HYNDBURN PORTAS PILOT FILM

One of my early projects was a bid that focused on creating a Hyndburn Business Hub to maximise the opportunities in the town, including Broadway, the Arndale and the Market Hall.

I put together a video to accompany the submission during my time as a District Councillor in Rishton and tried to evoke images which you associate with Accrington and Hyndburn including the Accrington Pals, Nori brick, Accrington Stanley, David Bumble Lloyd and author Jeanette Winterson.

It was part of a nationwide scheme of improvement grants under the 'Portas Pilot' banner started by Mary Portas to improve underperforming town centres and the film formed a major part of the bid by Hyndburn Borough Council.
