Daniel Ladinsky (born 1948) is an American poet and interpreter of
mystical poetry. This short verse is often misattributed to Hafiz, the
13th century Persian poet, but is actually taken from Ladinsky's The
Gift - Poems by Hafiz and is not a translation or interpretation but an
original poem by Ladinsky inspired by the spirit of Hafiz in a dream.
