I recently compered a charity snooker event in Preston which saw Kyren 'The Warrior' Wilson as star guest and the final total raised was over £2,000. This money was split between the Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Meningitis Now, a charity close to my heart as they were of tremendous support to my oldest mate in 2013 when he lost his partner at the age of just 25.
The event, which took place at Elite Snooker Club in Lostock Hall on 30th March 2019, was the second in a bi-annual series of celebrity evenings and was organised by professional players (and owners of the snooker club) Chris Norbury and Shokat Ali.
It follows a similar event in September 2018 when I was asked to compere for the then World Snooker Masters Champion, Mark Allen.
