Today's poem is called 'If It Is Not Too Dark' and is taken from Daniel Ladinsky's volume of verse, I Heard God Laughing: Renderings of Hafiz. The poem deals with the appreciation of the little things in life.
Although much of Ladinsky's work is commonly attributed to the Persian scribe Hafiz, many are simply inspired by his work and this is no more evident here than with the inclusion of the word 'evolution' which was not coined until centuries after he had died.
